About TestedToday
Honest reviews. Hands-on testing. No fluff.
Why this site exists
Most product-review sites you land on after a Google search were written by someone who never touched the product. They rewrite the manufacturer's bullet points, slap a star rating on it, and collect the affiliate commission.
TestedToday is the opposite of that. Every review on this site comes from a product I actually bought, unboxed, and used in my own home for at least 30 days before writing a single word about it.
Who we are
TestedToday is an independent product-review publication. We are a small team of editors who personally buy, unbox, and use the products we cover - not a content farm, not a marketing agency, not a "team of experts" that's really just a single freelancer in a foreign country.
If you ever have a question about a review, you can email us at contact@testedtoday.com.
How I test
Every product gets the same treatment, no matter how cheap or expensive:
- I buy it with my own money. No PR samples, no free units from manufacturers. If a brand sends me something for free, I either send it back or disclose it loudly in the review.
- I use it for at least 30 days.A 30-second unboxing video isn't a review. The real story of a product shows up after the third week - when the battery starts to fade, the seams start to fray, or the "easy clean" coating stops being easy.
- I document the failures. Every product has weaknesses. Reviews that only list positives are useless. If a vacuum loses suction on pet hair, I say so. If a pillow gets hot by 3 a.m., I say so.
- I write it the same day I finish testing. No three-month-old "memory of what it was like" reviews. The notes are fresh.
How I make money
TestedToday is funded entirely by affiliate commissions. When you click an Amazon, TikTok Shop, or other retailer link from one of my reviews and end up buying that product (or anything else on that retailer during the same session), the retailer pays me a small commission. You pay the exact same price either way - the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
We also use Skimlinks, an auto-affiliate service that may convert some outbound merchant links on this site into affiliate links automatically. Same deal - you pay the same price, the retailer shares a small slice of their margin with us.
This site has no display ads, no sponsored posts, no paid placements, and no "sponsored by" sections. Brands cannot pay to be featured. If a product is on this site, it earned its spot by being good enough to recommend after I tested it.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Full disclosure lives in the footer of every page.
What I don't do
- I don't make stuff up.Every spec, every number, every claim is something I either measured myself or pulled from the manufacturer's own listing. I cite where uncertain.
- I don't use fake testimonials. If you see a quote from a customer on this site, it came from a real verified-purchase review on the retailer's page, or it didn't make it onto the page.
- I don't pad word counts. Reviews are as long as they need to be and no longer. If a 600-word review covers it, I write 600 words.
- I don't take down reviews when a brand complains. If I tested a product and didn't like it, the review stays. I'll correct factual errors, but I won't change a verdict because the brand emailed me.
Editorial standards
Every published review has been through this checklist before it goes live:
- 30+ days of real-world use
- Specs verified against the manufacturer's own listing
- Pricing checked against current retailer pricing
- At least one identified weakness (no product is perfect)
- A clear verdict in the first 200 words - no scrolling to find the answer
Corrections & feedback
If you spot an error, broken link, outdated price, or anything that doesn't match your own experience with a product, please email contact@testedtoday.com. I read every message and I update reviews when readers flag real issues.
